Hi, I'm Tanya and I'm a postnatal counsellor. I help new mums to manage low mood and anxiety so they can feel calmer and more confident in motherhood.
Have you been finding motherhood much harder than you expected and felt anxious or low in mood?
Do you find yourself comparing yourself to others and not feeling good enough as a mum?
Maybe you feel like you have lost your sense of identity since becoming a mum and not sure who you are anymore.
You are not alone in these feelings but you don't need to feel this way. I can help you to understand what is going on for you and provide you with tools to help you feel more happy and confident as a mum.
I can help you understand why certain things might be triggering as you go through this major life transition and offer ways of easing anxiety and getting more rest when sleep is hard to come by. We can also process any trauma from birth or pregnancy.
Sessions are offered in person (in Hitchin) or online and you are welcome to bring your baby if needed. Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of different theories and techniques to support your individual needs, making sure you get the most out of therapy. Working at your pace we will focus on what you want to bring, giving you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in an empathetic, non- judgemental space.
