Mabel's Cafe & Tea Rooms

A new haven in Altrincham for tea lovers, families; and their furry friends.

After years of dreaming and planning I was thrilled to have the opportunity of opening Mabel's Cafe & Tea Rooms, a warm and welcoming spot in Altrincham named after our beloved little French Bulldog, Mabel! For years I have worked in a secretarial role and I always knew my true passion lay elsewhere. I have always planned our children's parties and buffets for any family parties so I thought why not put this hobby into my own business!

The name Mabel's holds a special place in my heart after our French Bulldog has had to overcome some health challenges but we got her through it and we felt it a fitting tribute to name the cafe in her honour; and my three daughters did not want the cafe named after them!

Mabel's Cafe & Tea Rooms isn't just about great tea and tasty treats. I am dedicated to making this space a welcoming environment for everyone, including those with Special Education Needs (SEN) as one of my daughters is autistic with learning difficulties but loves to visit welcoming and quiet places where she feels comfortable and welcome. You may see her from time to time on a Wednesday when she pays a visit – her artwork is amazing and is available in the cafe to purchase. She also decorates our front window for events/celebrations.

I am keen to keep this cafe appealing to all generations. While I am planning to maintain the charm that the regulars love and I am always looking for fun twists – we have had baby showers, Shetland pony days, cupcake decorating, Halloween events, Christmas events, Easter events etc etc. I am also planning on providing ice creams for the summer and we have just started getting the rear yard available for outside seating – which is a real sun trap!

I want Mabel's to be a community hub where everyone is welcome including our four legged friends. Whether you are looking to hold an event, looking for a quiet corner to relax or a family friendly spot for a treat or even a place which understands the needs of SEN families, Mabel's is the place to be.
