From Christmas panic to Christmas? PREPARED!

With Autumn well and truly upon us, its likely that, as a small business owner, your mindset is firmly focussed on Christmas.

It might be that you've got every social media post scheduled, every window display meticulously planned and you're ready to hit play on the festive tunes playlist.

Or, if you're like me – you have hundreds of half-done jobs and half-written plans and a toddler dangling out of the washing machine!

I'm here to make your life easier, and help reduce the stress and give you oodles of Christmas social media content ideas and tips.

Make a content calendar

This doesn't have to be fancy, branded or expensive – you can make a spreadsheet in Excel (or even good ol' pen and paper!) and fill it with a mixture of key awareness days for your industry, sales posts, behind the scenes, Christmas prep and other relationship-building content.

Your customers are talking about you – bask in the glory!

Another great piece of content is 'User Generated Content' – this is where your customers post on social media wearing, using, eating etc products or services that you sell. You could encourage this by creating a hashtag for customers to use: 'For your chance to be featured on our grid, use the hashtag '#ChristmasSorted'. Remember, if you share content from customers, make sure you give them credit for this.

Speaking of hashtags

These are a great way to organise your content and put some themes together. How about a series leading up to Christmas of #MeetTheTeamMonday? Ask your team to share their favourite Christmas movie or song, or whether they are yes or no for brussels sprouts – try and make it relevant to your business. Or#FixItFriday – how does your product or service solve a Christmas problem?

One final thing

One of the biggest Christmas problems is what to buy the person who has everything. Well, I have the answer! For the small business owner in your life, who has a stock answer of 'I don't mind' when you ask what they'd like – a gift voucher to work with me!

My gift vouchers can be sent to you in digital or physical format and they can cover any of my services. Here's what a previous purchaser had to say:

"Thank you so much for giving me such helpful information on which packages you offer. You have been a pleasure to do business with."

And the recipient

"She has the ability to explain things clearly but without sounding "preachy"."
